The National Citizenship Award and Scholarship Program is open to every graduating high school or CEGEP student from coast-to-coast-to-coast. This non-renewable scholarship is valued at $1000 and tenable at any post-secondary institution.
Eligibility Criteria
- Hold Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, landed immigrant or refuge status
- Be in the graduating year of uninterrupted full-time studies in high school or CEGEP. Exceptions may be considered for those who have undertaken a gap year for academic pursuits or community service-based activities
- Be between the ages of 16 to 24
- Financial need is taken into consideration
Selection Process
The Future Aces’ National Citizenship Award and Scholarship Program selection process is one of the most rigorous scholarship programs in Canada. A network of over 40 volunteers assist in making the selections each year.
The following is a breakdown of the selection process for the Citizenship Award and Scholarship:
- Applications are received in the office and ranked by quantifiable measurements
- Preliminary Selection Committee volunteers vet applications
- Advanced applications are distributed to Selection Committee readers
- On Selection Day, readers come together in their teams to discuss their applicants and make final selections
Applications are due February 2, 2015.
